City of Montréal
RénoPlex: for buildings with 1 to 5 dwellings

You may be eligible if
- You own a building with 1 to 5 dwellings in Montréal
- The building’s value is under the City’s limit
How it works
- You apply online to the City
- Wait for the City’s approval (3 to 4 months). Start before it and you can lose the grant.
- We do the work (you have 18 months)

Énergir with Hydro-Québec
Dual energy: add electric heating to gas
You may be eligible if
- You are an Énergir residential customer
- You heat with a natural gas central system (forced air or hot water)
How it works
- We add electric heating, such as a heat pump, to your gas system
- With a hot-water (boiler) system, a panel and service upgrade can also be covered: up to $7,800 for a house
- You follow Énergir’s steps on its official page

Écorecharge: home EV charger grant
You may be eligible if
- You own an electric vehicle when you apply
- Your charger is a connected level 2 model on the program’s list
- The charger costs at least $600 before taxes
How it works
- You buy an eligible charger, new, from a Canadian retailer
- Our service professional installs it (this grant does not cover the installation)
- You apply to the program after the installation, with the installation invoice
- The program pays you $600

Rénoclimat: backup power hook-up
What it covers
You may be eligible if
- You own the home and it is your main residence (or a multi-unit residential building)
- The work is done after October 1, 2026
How it works
- We connect your generator to your home’s electrical system
- We fill in and sign the contractor’s conformity form
- You apply online with your invoices. The new portal opens this fall.
- The program pays the grant

- Rénoclimat no longer pays for heating systems. Heat pumps go through LogisVert.
- Federal oil-to-heat-pump grant stopped taking requests on July 31, 2026.

Is there a heat pump grant in Quebec in 2026?
Yes. Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert program gives a grant for ENERGY STAR heat pumps. You apply within 9 months after the installation. Check the official page to see if you are eligible.
Does Rénoclimat still pay for a heat pump?
No. Rénoclimat no longer pays for heating systems. It now focuses on insulation, windows and backup power. For a heat pump, see LogisVert.
Can I start the work before RénoPlex says yes?
No. Wait for the City’s confirmation first, which takes 3 to 4 months. Work started before it can lose the grant.
Is there new federal money for heat pumps?
Yes. A rebate was announced on October 8, 2026: up to $10,000 for households below the median income, and $2,000 for other eligible homeowners. It is not open yet and no start date is given. LogisVert works today. Official announcement ↗
