He also recommended other services and products I need to update in the future to meet the new insurance, residential and environmental regulations that are in effect. Zafar made service call earlier today to change out an electrical box associated with the furnace. Job done to expectations. Zafar then provided requested quotations on other jobs. All well explained with written estimate follow up. Thanks Zafar for a well done service call.

Our furnace has gone out, called Electrika and that sent out Andre and Luis to diagnosis the issue. Excellent service as always! Updated on April 5th. We had Mohammed Ali and August at our house for a full day yesterday working on a few different issues around our kitchen. As always their work and service were impeccable. I am always impressed by all the technicians, their work and how incredibly tidy they leave everything. Could not recommend them enough!!! Previous review: We have used Electrika 3 times and specifically had Daniel work at our house twice. The work is always excellent! Daniel in particular is excellent at walking you through different options, flexible with changes, leaves job sites tidy and always explains what has been done. You are left feeling like the job had been done with excellence. All this within our very chaotic household! Would not hesitate to recommend both Electrika and Daniel!

Amazing service, phenomenal technician!!!! A cold Sunday afternoon in January 2021 and suddenly half the lights flicker, the oven & furnace turn off and won't come back on and no space heaters will work . Mohammed from Electrika talked to us over the phone, asked detailed questions to initially access the issue which helped us determine if we needed to move elderly mom to hotel (temps to -13), we didn't. Mohammed got to us quickly, fixed the issue to restore power immediately, explained the problem and we had a quote to fix the long term issue soon after.

Furnace FAQs

Dont' touch
The cost can vary depending on the charger type, your panel capacity, the distance between the panel and installation location, and whether panel upgrades are needed. For example, a straightforward installation is usually less complex than one requiring long wiring runs or panel upgrades. After our evaluation, we provide multiple options for your charger installation to allow you to make an informed decision before any work begins.
How much does furnace installation cost in Montreal?

The cost varies based on the type and size of the unit, your home’s size, existing ductwork condition, and whether your electrical panel needs an upgrade. A straightforward like-for-like replacement is typically less complex than a first-time installation or one requiring duct upgrades. After Electrika’s on-site assessment, we provide clear upfront pricing so you know exactly what is included before any work begins.

Should I repair or replace my furnace?

If your furnace is under 10 years old and the issue is a single component failure, a repair is often the right call. If it is 15 years or older, has recurring problems, or the repair cost approaches 50% of the cost of a new system, replacement is usually the more cost-effective choice over the next five to ten years. Electrika performs a thorough diagnostic first and explains your real options without pressure. We will tell you honestly which direction makes more financial sense for your situation.

How do I know if my furnace is safe to keep running?

Warning signs include a burning smell, a breaker that keeps tripping, scorch marks near the furnace or its wiring, or safety switches tripping repeatedly. If you have a gas furnace and smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave your home immediately and call 911. For systems showing performance issues or age-related wear, Electrika can perform a safety inspection before the situation becomes an emergency.

What should I look for in a new electric furnace?

Choose the right size for your home and a model that works with a heat pump. An electric furnace turns almost all the electricity it uses into heat, so the biggest savings come from adding a heat pump: it can do most of the heating, and the furnace helps on the coldest days. Electrika helps you compare models and weigh the upfront cost difference against long-term savings so you can make a confident, informed decision.

How long does a furnace installation take?

A straightforward replacement typically takes one full day. Jobs involving ductwork modifications or electrical upgrades may take longer. The condition of the mechanical room, available space, and complexity of the existing setup all affect the timeline. Electrika always explains the scope and expected timeframe before any work begins, no surprises on the day of installation.

Does Electrika service all furnace brands and models?

Yes. Our licensed service professionals diagnose all major residential furnace brands and models, electric or gas. On gas furnaces, we repair the electrical parts, such as the blower motor, control board and breakers. We are not limited to the brands we install, which means you can call Electrika for an honest diagnostic on any existing system without worrying about brand or model in our recommendation.

What is included in an Electrika furnace tune-up?

Our tune-up covers the full safety and performance inspection your furnace needs before winter. This includes: washing the indoor coil, cleaning the condensate drain (and pump, if you have one), changing the filter, cleaning the fan motor, checking the heating elements and sequencers, inspecting the electrical components and testing how the whole system runs. If you have a heat pump or central air, we also clean the outdoor coil and check the refrigerant charge. We also make recommendations for items that could improve efficiency or prevent future issues without pressure to act on anything beyond what is necessary.

Why is my furnace short-cycling (turning on and off repeatedly)?

Short-cycling is usually caused by an oversized system, a dirty or restricted filter, a faulty thermostat or control, or overheating due to poor airflow. It causes uneven heating, accelerated wear on components, and higher energy use. Electrika’s diagnostic service identifies the exact cause quickly and explains the fix clearly before any work moves forward.

How often should a furnace be serviced, and why does it matter?

Furnaces should be inspected and tuned up once per year, ideally in early fall before the heating season. Annual maintenance keeps the system running safely, prevents breakdowns during the coldest periods, extends equipment life, and is required by most manufacturers to keep your warranty valid. A proper tune-up also includes a safety check of the heating elements and electrical components.

Do you offer financing for furnace replacement?

Yes. If upfront cost is a concern, we offer flexible financing options so you can move forward with the right heating solution without financial stress. Ask us about current options when you book your assessment.
